My father founded the Hispanic Shipbuilders Association in 2015 which is a nucleus hub for Hispanic Electric Boat employee's networking both within the company and outside the community. He passed away unexpectedly in June of 2018. To keep is legacy alive I have collaborated with the HSA and created the Joe Lopez Scholarship Fund to help raise money for the 3 scholarships the HSA offers. We successfully raised $2,000 during our first fundraiser event in 2019 by hosting a Dominos Tournament at his favorite Restaurant Mambo Bar & Restaurant in New London, Ct.

Bilingual Talents
From Puerto Rico to Connecticut! I was born on the beautiful island and moved to Groton, Ct at the young age of 4. A quick learner from the start I picked up English right before kindergarten. I can't say I'm bilingual, but I can understand Spanish well and I'm up for the challenge!

Long time Connecticut resident (from Groton to Newington) Xiomara now resides in Colchester, Ct with her husband and three children. Xiomara graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University where she had a successful student athlete career in Women's Lacrosse and earned the Bonnie Edmonson Female Sports-Person of the Year award. "My love for sports and being on a team has always kept me striving to do and be my best."
